We're ENGAGED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What an incredible day!

It was Friday, March 8th. I was finished with work for the day and had met up with my mom and Lauren (my future sister-in-law) to have some girl time!

The entire 2.5 hours I spent with them, we went to get Starbucks, got our nails done, and were supposed to go get food. My mom "bailed" to go "play cards", and Lauren and I ended up driving to and from the nail salon twice. Lauren had to "get back to meet Zach to sign house papers" on their new house which was true, just not that night.

I found myself home alone with the animals and it was almost 6pm. I got a phone call from my dad, who was with my mom "playing cards" over at Aunt Judy and Uncle Russ' house. He asked me to drive over to the Gilman cafeteria to meet up with a teacher who needed help with some boxes. That's not exactly what I would be doing.

Patrick was supposed to be working. I normally only see him on Saturday nights and Sunday's so I wasn't expecting him on this Friday night to meet me. He had already aligned everything, including getting Zach and Lauren to capture the proposal. "Signing house papers" was really getting in position to capture it. Patrick was waiting for me to arrive. I didn't know he was there.

He surprised me and asked me to go on a walk, and we walked down to the bottom of the Culver Outlook, which was also the first placed Patrick kissed me. Read that story here, later.

I could not believe his "workouts got cancelled." I still hadn't connected all the series of events at this point, so I didn't think anything was up.

I showed him my new nails and asked him if he cared if I finished "girl time" with Lauren. He started played with my hair and basically told me we could call her when we left.

What transpired next was incredible. He was playing with my hair and said,

I know I work a lot and I don't get to see you as much as we both would want. But that's why I'm here right now. Maggie, I love you. I want you to be my wife. I want to have children with you. And I want to spend the rest of my life with you.

And with that he got on one knee and asked me to marry him (yes he used my full name!) I turned away because I started crying but managed to reply,

Of course I will!

I was absolutely surprised and so excited! Can't you tell!?

What transpired next was incredible. Patrick lied to me and told me that no one knew he was proposing... and I knew that telling everyone in person would be great. I really wanted my parents to know first, so I asked was if we could drive over to meet up with them and surprise them with our news. What I didn't realize was that Patrick had coordinated with his immediate family and mine. EVERYONE was already waiting for our arrival! It took 2 months to get my entire family and his entire family into the same room on the same day, and the same time. Katie, Matt, and Becky came down from NYC, and all my siblings were present!

What an incredible day! Love that my family got to be a part of it, my nails were done, it was captured on film, and everyone knew about it! I had been lied to for months! :)
