These are the babes. The best of the best. These are the women who love Patrick and I and cheer us on.
We believe in their integrity, their value systems, their opinion, and simply put... we trust these folks with our lives, literally. We know them well, but we wanted to let you get to know them too.
Katie Libous: Matron of Honor & sister
Well, I've had the honor of knowing Maggie since the day she was born... I'm her big sister! We've done a little bit of everything together - swim team at Woodcroft, high jumps off the tower at Deerwood, college days in the dorms at ORU, ministry in distant lands; coordinating conferences, youth group retreats, & processing life's seasons while cuddled up by the fireplace on snowy days. We plan outrageous projects together, dream big together, dance wildly & laugh hard. We share a passion for Jesus & people. Now we get to plan weddings together! I currently live in Brooklyn, New York & am part the HillsongNYC team. I currently serve/work alongside of my fiancé Matt as Connect Group Leaders & build into volunteer teams for weekend services in our church. I have taught students with learning challenges for the past 3 years & still tutor privately. I love crafting, stationary, cupcakes, Chai tea, Thai, and a good book. I love my family & my friends!
I love that Patrick & Maggie honor one another in their words & actions. Throughout their journey, they have always demonstrated respect & love for one another. I am most looking forward to Patrick's face when he sees his stunning Bride... I am looking forward to celebrating with my family the start of a new chapter in Maggie's life & seeing her prayers fulfilled before our eyes. God is faithful. You can always count on Maggie to go above & beyond... I have no doubt her wedding day will be spectacular. She is the best. Excited to have my own husband alongside of me!!!
Things that make me happy: Sour watermelon slices, Plantation Mint tea, fingernail polish, archival pens
Where should Maggie and Patrick go for their honeymoon: I think Patrick should take Maggie on a honeymoon to a Spanish speaking country with plenty of beaches...
Becky Hoffman: Maid of Honor & sister
I am Maggie’s younger sister Becky. I live in NYC. I am a full time Nanny. I have known Maggie for 22 years. I love my sister Maggie and am so excited for her to marry Patrick. I wasn’t sure about Patrick at first, but I am convinced that he is the best thing that has happened to Maggie. He makes her better and she makes him better. I have known Patrick since the day Maggie first starting hanging out with him, before they even dated. I do know that they both love to snowboard together. I’m hopeful they move to NYC one day, cause I definitely miss her! I also love Nutella, cropped shirts, babies,an heffalumps.
I'm looking forward to bringing a hot date.. psych... like I have one. But really, celebrating my sister's day, and seeing old friends.
Where should Maggie and Patrick go for their honeymoon: Dominican Republic, Bahamas, Maldives, Jamaica or South America. OR PAKISTAN. I was aiming for tropical and hot.
Elle Strube: Bridesmaid & college friend
Elle is an Oklahoma girl who was lucky enough to meet Maggie in college through Missions Staff. They had the best time at ORU and took adventures to Mexico and Colorado together before the east coast stole Maggie back again! They’ve made memories over countless rom-com’s, spiced chai lattes at Nordaggios, and chicken curry and naan at Indian Palace (since they’ve both been to India and adore the culture). They love their dream sessions that spark their passions and remind themselves to LTEL – Live the Extraordinary Life! God has truly blessed Elle with such a fabulous friend in Maggie, and now is blessed to have Patrick as part of the package deal. I love Maggie and Patrick’s excitement for life and adventure, and the fact that they enjoy investing in others and seeing lives bettered because of it. Also, I love how sweet and affectionate they are towards each other! Truly they are meant for each other!
Elle is currently pursuing her MBA while running her marketing company she started three years ago. She enjoys two-stepping, summers on a boat at the lake, listening to live music, trying new restaurants with friends, and traveling the world, connecting with incredible people along the way.
Elle is most excited about seeing Maggie all dolled up and looking fabulously beautiful, meeting her east coast friends and family members, dancing the night away, and of course sharing in the special memory of the first day of the rest of their life!
Where should Maggie and Patrick go for their honeymoon: Bali, Italy or Mexico
Jessica Ericson: Bridesmaid & friend since youth group
I met Maggie in the old days of Zone youth group at church. I was in tenth grade and she was several years younger than I was. Over the high school years, I was actually probably better friends with her also lovely sister Katie. Many of us would spend the late hours of Friday nights after youth group out at TGI Fridays or at the Hoffman house. After Katie went off to college, these gatherings continued and I became closer to Maggie Jeanne Hoffman. We kept in touch when she went away to Tulsa and been heart friends ever since. We have both grown a lot since high school (middle for Mags) but have really only grown closer since then and I love her like a sister!
I'm a pediatrician and am currently working my way through a fellowship in pediatric infectious diseases at Duke in Durham, NC. I love my job! I have an absolutely amazing husband who I married at the beginning of the best 8 years of my life. I also have a wonderful 4 year old Australian Shepherd named Sydney (clique I know but she came with the name when we adopted her). I like traveling to exotic locations, hiking, reading well written books, drinking tea on my southern front porch as my husband reads me poetry against the backdrop of the neighbor's banjo music (yes, I'm serious), and growing things.
I am looking forward to Maggie and Patrick's first married people kiss! I might cry.
Where should Maggie and Patrick go for their honeymoon: I recommend Costa Rica for a vacation - great way to combine all the cool kinds of places to go in one trip (moutains, rain forest, volcanos, beach) as well as great tasting local food.
Katie Mitzel: Bridesmaid & co-worker & friend
My name is Katie Mitzel , I am from Greenville, SC and spent the last 4 years in Baltimore. This is where I met the one and only Maggie Hoffman. I met Maggie in the Hunt Valley Towne Centre. She was shopping for a back packing trip and I was escorting the Cow mascot around as the Marketing Director of Chick-fil-A. I had heard of Maggie through other members of her family and was familiar with who she was. I went up to her and asked if she was Maggie Hoffman. She though shocked yet gracious and energetically responded with yes I am. After a brief conversation we then further connected over coffee and our love for beauty, adventure, and most importantly Jesus. One day Maggie just came over unannounced to find me stranded up with 2 sprained ankles, and as a servant went a brought me groceries in the pouring rain. We continued to bond over heart felt deep conversations that dove into the messiness of life, crazy late night marathons of Once Upon a Time, and crafts. As this beautiful friendship developed I was introduced to Patrick “a man of truth”. I was continually impressed with their passion for each other, the Lord and others. I felt privileged to capture as season of the development of this dynamic relationship. It is beyond a honor and blessing to be able to share apart of this very special day with them. I am looking forward to watching to see how the wedding unfolds, I know Maggie and brilliance in creating beauty and know everything will be amazing.
I am a free spirit that loves being rooted in truth yet living on the edge. I love all things outside,(camping, hiking, swimming, biking, canoing), traveling (especially to anywhere that speaks Spanish) being active, trying knew things, loving and working with children, the colors teal and plum. Some more of my favorite things include frozen yogurt, sushi, smoothies, Mexican food, and make up. Things that take my breath away are the love and faithfulness of Jesus Christ, music, and sunsets.
Lauren Fenimore (soon-to-be Hoffman): Bridesmaid & my sister-in-law
The story of how I met Maggie is one of my absolute favorite stories to tell :) I was new to Baltimore and had been living in MD for all of 6 months. I really hated the area to be honest, and was trying to survive grad school. I was having trouble making friends outside of my grad class, so I decided to throw a birthday party for a new friend that I had just met. I threw the party the same day as our church's young adult group's bowling party so I could get the house ready for the party while everyone was bowling. The bowling night ended up being a huge success so TONS of people were invited over to my house for the birthday party. So here I am, friendless, lonely, and homesick, now with 30+ young adults my age in my living room I overheard this fun girl talking about how she has this really big, awesome family, so I decided to say hello and introduce myself. I’ve always wanted a really big and close knit family, so I thought it would be fun to know someone who was a part of one. Little did I know that the girl with the great family would become my sister. I spent some time talking to Maggie, and eventually met her brother, Zach (a cute guy on ottoman). Maggie and I talked for awhile & really hit it off. We ended up teaching everyone in the living room how to play "Green Glass Door" (super fun game if you haven't played!!). We became Facebook friends after that night and she invited me to a women's retreat at her church a few weekends later. At the retreat I met Maggie's mom, sister, and aunt. It was awesome because I really got to see Maggie's love for people & the Lord. A few months later I started dating Zach, which meant I also saw Maggie more. Maggie has really poured into me like a sister over the past 3 years I've known her. I’m so honored and excited that I get to be a part of her special day. I’m grateful that she’s my sister.
Where should Maggie and Patrick go for their honeymoon: Somewhere warm... :) Maybe a cruise?! Maggie and I talked about how that would be fun!
Melissa Holyfield: Bridesmaid & friend
Maggie and I met at Echo Community Church in November 2011. I really didn’t know a lot of people, but she went out of her way to reach out to me and get me connected. I am super thankful for our friendship—the many Starbucks & froyo dates, introducing me to Arbonne, dressing up as Cat Woman for The Dark Knight Rises premiere, and so much more. I’m also thankful that Maggie is a member of the gym that I work for and that I have another workout buddy. :) Speaking of the gym, I enjoy exercising—mainly biking classes (and riding bikes on the NCR trail, too). I love to read, spend time with my family & friends, and bake cookies. You and Patrick of the most fun-loving and compassionate people that I have ever met! I’m looking forward to celebrating with you guys! I know that you have both been looking forward to this day for a long time. :)
Things I love: The medley of Somewhere Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World is one of my favorite songs of all time. My favorite color is blue and I love photography. I enjoy playing field hockey (I was a goalie for 3 years in high school) and will be an assistant coach for a team of 9 & 10 years olds this fall. I’m really excited because I haven’t played in almost 9 years!
Where should Maggie and Patrick go for their honeymoon: On a cruise! Well, I’m not sure how Patrick feels about cruises, but I know you want to go on one, Maggie!
Halie Tucker: Bridesmaid & college roommate
I met Maggie living on the 2nd floor of Claudius, a dorm at ORU. I was a lil' freshman and she took me in as a sister. Spent many great moments in that tiny dorm room only to upgrade to twice the space the next year living in Towers, another Dorm. I got to be Maggie's roommate my Sophomore year and Maggie's junior year. We danced on a day-to-day bases, (On our bed), listing to wild music. I still enjoy doing so to this day. I love that Maggie is real, honest and her heart is for the things of God. She brings life and joy EVERYWHERE she goes! The thing I am most looking forward to (besides seeing Maggie) would be seeing her walk down the isle and realizing how faithful God is. I remember many nights praying for our husbands and seeing that day come I CAN'T WAIT! There is 90% chance if I hear Hillsong's album "Above It All" I will think of Maggie. I love the beach, ice tea, Cheesecake Factory salads, spending time with family and friends, sleep, and running the streets of downtown and choking people. Things that make me happy are Ice tea (w crushed ice), Cheesecake Factory salads, tingling lip balm with a hint of red.
Where should Maggie and Patrick go for their honeymoon: You should go to any beach or to Europe! Or take her to Waitomo glow worm caves in New Zealand.
Sarah Marshall: Bridesmaid & college friend
Maggie and I met in Tulsa Oklahoma at ORU! She was my head chaplain and I was one of her chaplains of the same dorm. We hit it off immediately and became really good friends! We both have very free spirits which allowed for a lot of fun! I don't know Patrick at all. However he looks like he is a fabulous man and I couldn't be happier for the both of you. I know Maggie is a quality person. She is very loving, compassionate, and honest. She also has a contagious laugh which is awesome! I'm looking forward to being with Maggie and her family and friends. I'm also looking forward to the reception party because If I know one thing about Maggie she loves dancing as much as I do! It's going to be crazy fun!
I am a behavioral therapist who works with children with autism. I love to paint, rock climb, ride horses and garden. I love the color coral and blue. I love watching HGTV with my boyfriend Christopher and cooking meals with him. One day we would like to get married and move back home to Philadelphia. There's nothing that makes me happier than puppies, chai tea (with soy thanks to Maggie), also perfume and lotion from laocctaine.
Where should Maggie and Patrick go for their honeymoon: I think Patrick should take Maggie to the Maldive islands near India!
